OPHIR LEVY, DIRECTOR OF SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, EMEA // NOVEMBER 27, 2018 Not all PSIM solutions are created equal in fact many fall far short of being true situation management systems, observes Qognify’s Ophir Levy in his latest video blog. At one end of the spectrum you have the ability to integrate several sensors whilst other, you have Qognify Situator that goes far beyond that makes it possible to correlate, analyze and derive meaningful insight from all of the data coming in to the control room. He explains how Situator’s powerful engine sits on top of the system and sensor integration to deliver a common operating picture and drive often business processes, as pre-defined by the organization in accordance with best practice. Qognify is proud to be a finalist in the Benchmark Innovation Awards 2019. This prestigious annual award scheme recognizes and rewards innovative thinking in the security technology sector, which delivers real benefits to installers, integrators and end users. The company has been commended for its Access Control Insights (ACI) packaged solution that sits within Qognify’s leading enterprise incident management platform – Situator. Launched in 2018, ACI analyzes and structures access control system data to provide operational insights, detect abnormal behavior and identify critical events. By employing machine learning data analytics, it detects unusual card holder activity that may be indicative of fraud, theft and other risks and alert to it. In addition, Qognify’s smart business logic identifies critical events for enunciation and escalation to ensure timely response when it truly matters. Crucially, all of this is possible without changing the existing access control system and processes, ensuring investment protection and easy adoption. What’s more, it is proven to deliver a powerful return on investment as a large airport in North America has discovered. The airport approached Qognify to help address the issue of mounting and substantial fines from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) resulting from lapsed time response to critical alarms. The airport’s security operation had trouble distinguishing time-restricted access control events from other events, making it difficult to ensure a compliant response. Since introducing ACI the airport has been able to reduce non-compliant events and accumulating fines by improving responses and having a record of compliance as actions are collected. The acknowledgement from the Benchmark Innovation Awards perfectly coincides with an announcement made by Qognify in April, in which the company explained how Qognify customers and partners around the world are reaping the rewards of its expanded resources, research & development and services, with CEO, Steve Shine, stating: “Our customers place a premium on their physical security strategy, either because of the complexity of their needs, or the specifics of the industries in which they operate. Therefore, our focus is to deliver the solutions they need to achieve their required outcomes.” The winners of the Benchmark Innovation Awards 2019 will be announced later this year.
DILIP VERMA, REGIONAL VP, INDIA // AUGUST 02, 2019 Earlier this year, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (a department of the Government of India) revealed the top 100 Smart Cities in the country, in the execution of its Smart Cities Mission. The highest scoring cities were Nagpur and Ahmedabad, and in addition to being the two leading smart cities in a country that has been a global pioneer in the field, they also have in common the use of Qognify’s Safe & Smart City solution. Approximately 31% of India’s population reside in cities, contributing in the region of 63% to its GDP, with these figures set to rise significantly in the next ten years. In response, the Government of India launched its five-year Smart Cities Mission on June 25, 2015 announced by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The aim was to ‘drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for people by enabling local development and harnessing technology as a means to create smart outcomes for citizens.’ A consequence of this ground-breaking government-led initiative, has been the emergence of India as the world leader in the smart transformation of urban environments. Qognify is proud to have been on this journey within the country for setting up city operations control centers. It all began in 2010, when Delhi was to host the Commonwealth Games. Delhi Police needed a way to fuse data from multiple systems and sensors, dispersed across 45 sites throughout the city, including sporting venues, metro stations, markets and police stations. The success of this project paved the way for other cities throughout the country to choose Qognify’s Safe & Smart City Solution to help meet their smart city ambitions. In September 2014, Qognify announced that it was working on a project with Nanded, a city with over half a million citizens and a booming tourist trade, attracted by its historical and religious significance. This announcement was followed by a project with the city of Kolhapur, whereby the Safe & Smart City Solution was deployed to increase security and safety, as well as help manage traffic, emergency communications and other vital aspects that create a smarter and safer city. Commenting at the time, the Kolhapur Municipal Commissioner stated that: “The deployment of the Qognify solution is key to our efforts in making Kolhapur a better place to live.” Then in early 2017, Qognify confirmed an exciting project with Navi Mumbai (a new city built to handle the population overflow from Mumbai), for which it won a GSN Most Notable Critical Infrastructure Protection Program award. Mr. Soma Vijayakumar of CIDCO (the agency established for managing the city) commented that: “The Navi Mumbai security program goes far beyond a CCTV system. It is a smart solution that integrates video, emergency response, traffic control, license plate identification and more. Qognify is the core important element of this platform, providing a solution which is among the most modern and advanced available anywhere.” Today, more than 20 projects in India, including the top ranking Nagpur and Ahmedabad, rely on Qognify and the company is the recognized market leader. Now the company is looking to the next stage in the evolution of urban environments, and on August 22, it will be present at the 5th National Summit on 100 Smart Cities India 2019 at The LaLiT in New Dehli. Pearl River, New York – June 06, 2019 – Qognify – the trusted advisor and technology solution provider for physical security and enterprise incident management solutions – has launched Umbrella. The new web-based management platform leverages significant cost savings by managing large distributed video surveillance systems centrally in the cloud. In recent years, video surveillance projects have become larger and more complex, demanding more resources and increasing operational costs. Altering the configuration of multiple sites is time-consuming and monitoring the health status of all servers and cameras across every location is a challenge. As a consequence, organizations frequently over-spend on technical expertise and unnecessary licenses, as well as potentially exposing themselves to regulatory risk. Qognify solves these challenges with the launch of Umbrella – a management solution, which is fully integrated with Qognify’s video management software (VMS) Cayuga. The web-based Umbrella can be hosted in the cloud (including Microsoft Azure and AWS) as well as on premise. Once installed, Umbrella provides a consolidated view of all servers and cameras across every connected installation, highlighting those, which require attention. Furthermore, if any company-wide changes are required to be made to how the video system operates (e.g. caused by changes in regulations such as GDPR), they can be configured and rolled-out remotely and immediately. Umbrella is a perfectly suited for organizations in the banking, retail, logistics and transportation industry, which operate large-scale branch networks with hundreds of sites and thousands of cameras to be managed and place a premium on their physical security strategy. Umbrella was unveiled at Qognify’s EMEA launch event in Germany on May 9 in Karlsruhe, giving key partners and end customers of Qognify the opportunity to learn more about the new combined company after the acquisition of OnSSI and SeeTec at the end of 2018. Vice President of Research & Development at Qognify, Chen Porat, comments on value the new technology delivers: “Centralizing system monitoring, administration and license management through Umbrella, enables organizations to be more proactive and effective in the way they operate and maintain their surveillance camera networks, regardless of scale or complexity.” Steve Shine, CEO of Qognify, adds: “Qognify is one of the leading solution providers for video surveillance and Umbrella is born out of our commitment to delivery truly enterprise-class video solutions. Launching Umbrella, we want to fundamentally change the way organizations deploy, use and manage technology to protect people, customers, assets and infrastructure.” Umbrella is now available to organizations using Qognify’s Cayuga video management system. www.Qognify.com Media Contact Graham Thatcher Tel: +44(0)7933- 673-240 Email: graham.thatcher@prbychief.com Qognify Corporate Contact Andreas Conrad Email: andreas.conrad@qognify.com
